I personally don’t take my kids out to cafes, only because it’s way too much of a hassle; and I worry all the time that my kids are going to act out and I’ll have to leave. So I usually play it safe and don’t go anywhere. However, I do know a lot of you wonderful parents brave the adult world, and take your kids along; and I often get asked where the best places are to go.
Here’s a list of kid friendly cafes in Auckland, divided into the North, South, East, West and Central.
Please note, I have focussed on cafes that make the overall experience easier on the parent – so not necessarily just a kid-friendly menu. Having a play area, or activities for kids is definitely a huge draw for parents!

Your local plant barn may also have a kid-friendly cafe – Kings, Palmers, etc
Remember it always pays to call first to make sure the cafe has what you require!
