These school holidays don’t have to be a bore for you OR your kids. Check out these top 12 things to do during the school holidays in Auckland. Now I do apologise to the rest of New Zealand, but as I live in Auckland, it is easier for me to list the things to do.

1. Ambury Farm
If the weather is good, head out to Mangere Bridge and let the kids walk around this farm. Sheep, cows, horses, chickens, goats, pigs and MORE! We LOVE this farm. Take a picnic and make a day out of it. There are also a couple of neat playgrounds down by the water in Mangere Bridge too.

2. Auckland Museum
The Auckland Museum is amazing for all kids – big AND small! If you live in Auckland, remember to take your rates bill and you get in for free – although a donation is always appreciated.

3. Cornwall Park
Beautifully sprawled out, and has a cafe AND HUGE playground. Happy Mum, Happy Child, AMMIRIGHT!?

4. Devonport – via Ferry
If the weather plays ball, then taking your kids across to Devonport on the Ferry is a FANTASTIC idea! It’s not a long trip, and the kids will love it. Plus Devonport is truly amazing.

5. Auckland Art Gallery
There are always loads of exciting and fun things to do at the Auckland Art Gallery – it’s not just for adults!! Check out what they have to offer online.

6. Jump – Extreme Trampolining
If you need to get some energy out, then visit Jump!

7. Auckland Zoo
Take a picnic and spend the day at the zoo! My kids have always been quite fond of this – just wish it was a little closer!

8. Butterfly Creek
Now this is local for me and I go here ALL the time. Beautiful butterfly enclosure, crocodiles, farm animals, dinosaurs and so much more! Well worth the visit!

9. Wynyard Quarter
Cafe’s, play areas, events and MORE all at Wynyard Quarter.

10. Your Local Mall
Often your local shopping mall will have events on during the school holidays. You can grab a coffee on the go and your kids can have a little fun! Westfield usually ALWAYS have something on so be sure to check out their website.

11. Whoa Studios
A great all-day experience out in West Auckland – there’s show’s, activities and a playground. Not to mention a cafe!
