Instax Mini 90 Review

Instax Camera 04On the top of my Christmas Wish List was the Instax Mini 90, so imagine my excitement when I got the opportunity to review one!

The idea behind the Instax Mini range, is that it brings fun back into instant photos – like the Polaroid.  It does take a bit of getting used to how the Instax camera works, as you hold it on its side, which isn’t like a normal camera.  This is because it has to be able to print the picture.

Once mastered it is SO easy, and SO MUCH FUN!

The Instax Mini 90 offers advanced features, such as bulb and double exposures – which make it easier to get better light onto the image. The Instax Mini 90 is also equipped with new functions and features like macro mode and high performance flash, making this an instant camera for every photographer developed under the concept “NEO CLASSIC.”

I want my kids to know about photos.  Not digital photos, but actual photos.  It is a dying breed in my opinion.  I also want to make taking photos FUN again.  Not just printing out and shoving into an album.  So I tried a couple of things for my kids to do, and believe me when I say I had a BLAST doing it:

OTHER USES

Ornaments

Simply punch a hole in the top of your Instax photo, and string it up.  Great for hanging on the tree!  You could take one each year of the family, write the year it is and then collect one to hang every year.  Boy that’s a BRILLIANT IDEA

Christmas Cards

Using your Instax photo, stick it to a card or pre-printed piece of paper and give to family or loved ones.  A great way to personalise the cards.

The Instax Mini ranges in price, and you can find the different options here.

If the Instax Mini 90 doesn’t suit your needs, or is a bit expensive, then just drop down a model and get the Instax Mini 8.

THE FILM

After a bit of research I found that the film for the cameras can be a bit pricey but only if you use the camera like you would a normal camera.  It’s $19.99 for a cartridge of 10 film.

I used mine ONLY to take special moment photos.  So it took me a long time to go through a cartridge.

Check out the Instax Mini page for where to buy – and seriously, add it to your Christmas wish list!  I HIGHLY recommend it!

I also put together a post about the best way to keep your memories safe, feel free to check it out here!

Let me know below – would you like this for Christmas?  Maybe you’ll get it 😉
